Their customer service is not the best unfortunately. I already contacted them privately.and I am still waiting to hear from them. The excuse from ATT has been congestion on the network, but they are using it to profit and give priority to new customers. That is the mai reason of my frustration.that I can not even get to what they advertise, and that my friend may also be illegal. On their website clearly states that anyone under an unlimited contract and that owns a smartphone may be throttled when the 5GB are reached.sometimesI am not even at 3GB and my speeds are crawling. The issue is that they should slow it down when it's time.not at 3GB one month, another month at 4GB or at 2GB.I can never get to 5GB at LTE speeds. I am not against ATT slowing down my speed.
#AM I GETTING THROTTLED PLUS#
We pay about $160 plus taxes for 700 minutes, for 2 lines. Jerry, you may get unlimited phone calls and messages for that amount. I believe you will find it's all covered in the terms of service which must be accepted when you chose your data plan. Those users who choose to skimp on the money should be prepared to skimp on the speed when they use too much data. Let's not even mention that the users whopay for 10GB also pay more if they go over the threshhold they pay for. If you like to compare your unlimited plan at $30 to the 15GB plan at $130, then I would say that "you get what you pay for" in that the people willing to pay for more data faster should be allowed to get it. Somewhere along the way they had the clause that if your usage pattern indicated that you would clearly exceed the throttling threshhold for the month (such as using over 1GB of data on the first few days of your billing cycle) that you may get throttled before you reach the threshhold to prevent your traffic from becoming a burden on the network infrastructure. Later they clarified that users of 3G devices would get throttled at 3GB of usage, and users of LTE devices would get throttled at 5GB of usage. When AT&T introduced throttling on the unlimited data plans, they quoted that the top 5% of users were using the ajority of the data, so those users would get throttled. It seems fair to me that if I am willing to pay for speed, that I should not be slowed down by people who feel entitled to unlimited speed when they pay for unlimited data.
#AM I GETTING THROTTLED FULL#
I pay $100/month for 10GB of data (more than 3x what you pay) so I also get the full speed for all of my data. You pay $30 per month for your unlimited data, and you get unlimited data, just not unlimited speed. But you don't even wait for that, not even 3GB.VERY UNFAIR, VERY DIRTY TACTICS. In your website states that smartphone owners may get throttle at 5GB. Sometimes I am not even at the 2.5 GB mark and you have slowed me down. But to the ones that have paid for many years an unlimited service, you are throttling their data to crawling speeds. All of sudden your network is not congested anymore because now you can profit from the new customers and double their data.
